China’s ports lift coal import controls from New Year
Customs offices at some ports in China have finally relaxed the restrictions in place for nearly two-months on foreign coal imports and restarted the clearance of coal for all uses beginning January 1, according to market sources on January 7.
But the extent to which the bans have been eased vary from port to port, Mysteel’s survey showed.Based on the survey conducted on January 3, those ports in East China that had stopped allowing coal carriers with imported coal to berth and had ceased clearance of all foreign coal from early November until December 31 have restarted clearing the coal from New Year…Full Story
